Chapter Thirteen: Honeymoon Surprise

**Just a little warning, if the suggestion of Sims Woohooing bothers you, you might not want to continue. Rating of PG-13 for suggestive material and scantly clad Sims.

“Chuck! It’s absolutely beautiful!” We were standing outside the house Chuck had rented for us to stay in during our honeymoon.

Once we had boarded the plane, Chuck had told me that our honeymoon destination was Island Paradise.  While we were dating, I had told him it was a place I wanted to travel to at some point and he had thought it would be a perfect place for our honeymoon.

“You really like it? I saw the pictures online and once I saw the ocean view, I was sold.”
We continued to walk around the house and I squealed at each new discovery.
“Look at the pool! It’s amazing!”
We walked in the front door and into the large open family room.
“Oh my gosh, Chuck! There’s a grand piano here! I can serenade you.” I smiled and looked at him. He was already smiling at me. He probably thought I was funny to watch. I didn’t care, though. I couldn’t get over how beautiful the house was!

“Chuck, come check this kitchen out!”
“Wait, wasn’t there another dining room on the other side of the house?!  There’s two dining rooms?!”

“Oh, look! There’s a cute little office area!”

I enjoyed watching her running from room to room. I was pretty sure she would enjoy the house and the island but seeing her so excited made me feel good about where I had picked to go for our honeymoon.

She came to a door and looked back at me.  “Any guess as to what’s in here?”

I laughed “Well, we haven’t seen a bathroom on this floor yet…” She opened the door and sure enough, there was a huge bathroom with an amazing shower and tub.
We left the bathroom and she saw a spiral staircase.

“What all is upstairs?”

“Why don’t we go upstairs and find out.” I had couldn’t help but smile. I already knew what was up there but it was so fun watching her discover new things.

We climbed the stairs and she went from room to room stopping in a bedroom. She looked at me with a quizzical expression. “There are three bedrooms? How should we choose which one to sleep in?” She asked me.
I chuckled. “Well, we could sleep in all of them.”

I looked up at him and he was smirking. “Chuck Hobble! I wasn’t talking about that! I actually meant sleep.”

“I know what you meant.” He moved closer to me. “But what’s to stop us from visiting each one, and… now there’s no one to interrupt us.” He reached up and held my head.
He leaned down and started kissing me and whenever he kissed me, I tended to lose control of all my senses. This wasn’t an exception.  Before I knew it, we had both lost most of our clothing.
“Maybe we should try this bedroom.” I suggested to him in between kisses.

“I like the way you think, Mrs. Hobble.” He picked me up and carried me over to the bed.
We spent most of our time at the house we rented.  Chuck had hired a cook to come in the evenings and cook us dinner and with a pool and a beach nearby, we really didn’t need to go anywhere.  We spent many afternoons sitting by the pool, swimming, horsing around in the pool, and talking about or future plans while lying in bed.

In the evenings, we ate outside near the pool. There was usually a nice breeze and the view of the ocean was amazing!
After dinner we'd walk down to the beach to watch the sunset. Appaloosa sunsets were beautiful and romantic, but even Chuck admitted that the sunsets on the island were the most beautiful he had seen.

After a week of staying at our island home it was time to head back home to Appaloosa. We were both sad to leave our little island getaway but we were also excited about getting back home and seeing our friends and family.

Soon after returning home, I began writing what I thought would be a symphony.  I had recently been asked to become the conductor of the symphony orchestra and had always wanted to write a symphony. The original intention was to have the Appaloosa Orchestra play the symphony at one of our upcoming concerts.
That was the plan, but then I received a call from a movie producer who asked if I would be interested in composing a score for an upcoming movie.  He explained that the movie was about a girl who moves away from home, and while trying to find out who she is, finds the man of her dreams.  I told the producer that I would have no problem relating to that.

I took the music I had composed for the symphony and was able to take some of the motives and sequences and applied it to the movie score.  I was feeling inspired and was able to compose pretty fast, until I hit a roadblock.
My stomach had been hurting for several days and on this particular day, I couldn’t contain it any longer.

After getting sick, I felt much better but decided to take a break from writing. I headed into the spare bedroom and started painting.  After we returned from our honeymoon I started painting and usually found it relaxing.
I painted for several minutes before I started having an overwhelming feeling of nausea.  I ran towards the bathroom and barely made it in time.

After that, I felt fine the rest of the day.  I was even able to eat some mac and cheese, which I had been craving!

The next day I was visited by the nausea bug again. As Chuck and I sat on the couch I told him about my sickness.

“Amanda, if you’ve been feeling this bad for several days, you really need to go to the doctor.”

“I suppose you’re right. I’ll call to make an appointment tomorrow.”

A couple days later I drove to the doctor’s office for my appointment. I was a little scared to drive though since we had had our first winter snow of the year. It caught everyone by surprise since it was a little early this year.

Several hours later, I returned home and found Chuck sitting on the couch.

“Hey sweetie, how was your doctor’s appointment?”
“Well…I don’t have food poisoning or even a stomach bug.”

“That’s good!”

I didn’t exactly know how to tell him.  Before we had gotten married we had talked about how we both wanted children and we hadn’t used anything to keep us from getting pregnant, but I never thought I’d be telling him so soon after getting married.

He stood up. “Amanda, is everything okay?
“I really don’t know any other way than to tell you than to say that you’re going to be a daddy.” I stood there for a second cringing waiting for his response.

“Are you serious?! You mean you’re pregnant?! That’s wonderful!” He had the biggest grin on his face.

“Really? You’re not upset?”

“Why would I be upset? We both want children and it’s not like we were trying to prevent having a child.”

“I just wasn’t sure with it being so soon after we got married that you’d be so excited. I know I’m still kind of shocked. Thrilled, but shocked.”
“Of course I’m happy.” He put his hands on my shoulders and pulled me in for a kiss. He suddenly stopped kissing me and got a serious look on his face. “So, when are you due?”
“Late Spring. The doctor thinks early June sometime.”

He smiled. “That means you’re about three months along and got pregnant during our honeymoon.”
I hadn’t thought about it but he was right.  I was thinking about all the things we needed to do before June when Chuck talking interrupted my thoughts.

“Whose daddy’s little guy? Someday you’re going to grow up to be a rancher.” Chuck was already trying to talk to my belly.
“Chuck, honey. I seriously doubt the baby can hear you.” He didn’t really seem to listen to me and kept on talking to my belly and listening to see if he heard anything.  I stood there and let him talk and listen and couldn’t help but smile at him.  When he finished talking he put his hand on my belly.
“There’s really a baby inside there…We have to start thinking about names!” He jumped up and ran over to the computer and started looking up baby names.  I stood there watching him for a couple of minutes before he called me over.  Before I joined him, I reached down and patted my belly marveling at how a little baby was forming inside. Little baby Hobble. Maybe your dad will have calmed down by the time you enter this world. I looked over at Chuck and he was already making a list of names. I chuckled and joined Chuck at the computer. I wonder if we'll have a boy or girl…

  4. Awesome! Just FYI that I finally updated my blog. So, the writing is exactly how I want it. You can go read when you have time. I'm home all day tomorrow, so I'm hoping to get some good play time in so I can get some more chapters going. Now that I know what kind of writing I am doing, I need to get back into it. :) On to the next chapter....
