George - Chapter Nineteen: Welcome Home

Three days had passed since I had interviewed for the job at the hospital. I hadn’t expected to hear anything immediately following it, but as the days went by I found that I was more and more anxious about hearing from them. I hadn’t realized how much I wanted the job until I told Steph about it and once I realized it, I had trouble thinking about much else.

One thing that helped keep my mind occupied was packing. I had returned again to Appaloosa to finish packing up the last of my stuff. The next time I returned to Bridgeport it was for good. Steph, Ethan, and Charlotte were coming in two days to help pack the last little bit of my things and then the next day my stuff was going in storage at Bridgeport until the new apartment was ready. We still had at least two weeks before we could move in; in the meantime, I was going to be staying at Steph’s place. As I was finishing packing up a box, I heard my phone ring. I hurried over to answer it but was baffled by who it was. I didn’t recognize the number but it had the same area code as Bridgeport and even though I normally didn’t answer numbers I didn’t recognize, I chose to this time.

“Hello?”

George's next chapter coming soon, but. . .

I've been gradually working on George's next chapter, but I've also been mulling over Trev's ever since I posted the poll about his story.

From the poll I learned two things:

1) There are readers who want George's story to continue without knowing what happens in Trev's story. . .

AND

2) There are readers who do want to know Trev's story.

Duh, right! lol!

Obviously, I wouldn't have asked if I wasn't interested in telling it. . .so after contemplating for a little while, here's my compromise; I will tell Trev's story but it will have it's own blog so that way George's story can continue on it's way to the 4th generation and I can tell Trev's story (but separately).  Pretty much the same way that Jeff's story works.

Am I insane for writing a legacy and 2 other side stories? Probably. lol I will say this though, Listening is always the main story and is my main focus. The side stories are extra so their chapters will be done as time permits.

In the meantime, if you are interested, I've gone ahead and published Trev's blog (still quite a bit to do). If you'd like to take a peek, you can go to the new tab above for Side Stories and scroll down to his, or you can just click the link below.

Thanks so much for reading these stories!

Thank you for your input!

I'm so glad I asked about Trev's story, the "no's" clearly won. So we'll continue on with George's story and hopefully get to that happy ending for him. :)

I will go ahead and disclose that I will be doing character studies for George, Steph, Trev, Charlotte, and Will after George's generation is done. And I will include information about Trev, Charlotte's, and Will's relationships that didn't come out in George's story.  Hopefully that will make Trev and Will (and Charlotte) fans happy. :)

Thanks again for the feedback! Next George chapter should be out early next week. :D

Trev's Story

So, as we approach the end of George's story (within the next 10 chapters, lol), I've been thinking more about how Trev's story fits in with his. Most of Trev's story takes place before George's. The really important part of Trev's story; him battling his demons so to speak, is what coincides with George's. But there's one part that we don't really get to see and that's his and Pamela's story. I don't want to give too much away, but at some point, we'll see Pamela but it won't be for very long and then. . .well. . .we don't learn how they get from one point to the next. I've tried and tried to figure out how to incorporate it into George's story, but it just doesn't work.

I love Trev, like I really love him, and his and Pamela's story is something I'd love to tell, but it just doesn't belong in George's story. I've been toying with the idea of doing a side story of Trev's and Pamela's relationship but if people aren't interested in reading that, then I can just keep it to myself. :)

So, here's what I'm going to do, I've set up this poll to gauge how interested people are in hearing Trev's side story. You can vote and even comment to let me know your thoughts because I would greatly appreciate your input!!!

Thanks so much for reading this story and for taking an interest in the lives of these characters!!

George - Chapter Eighteen : Home Is Where the Heart Is

- Very picture heavy chapter so it may take a while for them to load.

****George****

I stood looking at the door, wanting to open it and not wanting to; feeling excited and hesitant about what I would do once I walked through the door. A year ago, I wouldn’t have even thought that this day would come, that I would be having this conversation today. I figured that there would be no reason that would ever tempt me to do what I was about to do.

I opened the door and looked around, not seeing her anywhere. I had asked her the night of Steph’s party if she would be available for dinner and she had agreed, but only if she could cook and I had thought that was interesting; we sometimes ate at her house but she wasn’t usually so insistent.

“Mom?” I called out.

I heard footsteps from upstairs and then on the steps. “I’m sorry George! I was trying to find something upstairs.” She walked over to me and we hugged which caused a little pain in my heart.

“Dinner’s almost ready. Do you want to get the plates out?”

George - Chapter Seventeen: Happy Birthday, Steph - Part Three: The Best Birthday Present, Ever

- So we've  come to the last part of Steph's birthday chapters. I hope you've enjoyed reading them; I certainly had a fun time writing them.

- The only warning I'll give is that if you don't want to know what happens in Jeff's story, don't look to hard at some of the pictures. . .You'll understand as you get further down. I promise. If you're like me, and you want to know spoilers, than look really hard at some of the pictures. Lol!!

- I will have the next chapter out as soon as I'm able. There are several things I need to build for it but I'm hoping it won't take too long.

- Thanks so much for reading!!!

I had just finished taking a shower and had walked into the bedroom to find something to wear. I was surprised to find George there and that he had already showered and gotten dressed. “How did you already get cleaned up and dressed?”

“I used one of the other bathrooms.” He admitted with a smile.

“Why didn’t you use this one?”

He shook his head. “Let’s just say that I needed to get ready quickly and that doesn’t happen when we’re in the same bathroom. . .” He hinted.

“I have no idea what you mean.” I joked before walking into the closet to find a dress to wear. I found one that went with what George was wearing and walked back out of the closet and I noticed that George was coming in from the living room. “How much time do I have?” I asked.

“Take as much time as you need. We’re not in a hurry.” He smiled and I wondered what he was up to.

As I finished getting ready I noticed that George kept leaving the bathroom and bedroom to go back out to the living area. I had given up on trying to figure out what was going on. All I knew was he seemed to be running around the house.

I was taking one last look at my makeup in the mirror and I saw him walk up behind me. “How did I get so lucky?” He asked as he looked at me in the mirror.

I turned around and smiled at him. “I think I’m the lucky one.” I admitted and kissed him.

“God, I love you.” He whispered when we broke apart.

I put my hand on his chest over his heart and looked up at him. “And I love you.” I whispered back. He smiled at me and then gently put his hand around mine. We walked back into the bedroom and on the bed was a wrapped box. He motioned for me to open it but before I reached for it, I reached for him and kissed him purposefully on the lips; almost causing him to lose balance.
