I had seen Carson walking up to me after the unveiling, but
before I could talk to him, Jason had grabbed my arm and swung me away. We
talked to several people and I kept trying to find Carson. I didn’t see him
anywhere though. I felt Jason’s hand on my arm again. “I have something I want
to show you.” He said to me and he led me downstairs to his office.
We walked in and I looked around. “What is it you wanted to
show me?” Before I could object he was kissing me.
For a moment I was so shocked I froze. When I regained my
senses I pushed him away. “What are you doing?!”
“Bridgette, surely you’ve picked up on the signs that I’m
attracted to you?”
I was flabbergasted. “Jason, I have a boyfriend who I love
very much.”
“He doesn’t strike me as your type.” Jason said.
“And what exactly do you think my type is?” I angrily asked.
“Someone who truly appreciates your work, someone who could
help you with your career,” He walked closer to me “someone older and. . .more
experienced.”
He tried to kiss me again and I heard the office door slam open.
****Carson****
I walked in and saw him trying to kiss Bridge. I wanted to clobber the guy so bad. “I
suggest you back off before I make you back off.” I said calmly as I walked up
to Bridge.
He smirked. “Don’t you think that’s up to her?”
He confused me for a moment; was there really a decision for
her to make? Was there something between
the two of them?
Before I could say anything Bridge went up to Jason and
slapped him. “You brought me in here, tried to seduce me and even after I said
no, you still tried to kiss me.”
He took a step towards Bridge. “You and I could have
something magical together. Surely you can see that. He’s just a. . .” Before
he could finish I pushed him on his back.
“I warned you to back off. Next time, I won’t be so nice.” I
put my arm around Bridge and we left. I texted Julia and Trent to let them know
that Bridge and I had left.
We got in the car and rode the whole way home in silence. I
wasn’t entirely sure what had happened back at the gala but I wasn’t ready to
talk about it yet. I was still too mad.
****Bridge****
As we rode home I was still in shock about what had
happened. I knew Carson was upset but I wasn’t sure if he was upset with me. We
arrived home and he walked into the house ahead of me. He threw his keys on the
table and started to walk to his room.
“Carson.” I called after him. He stopped but didn’t turn
around. “Will you please talk to me?” I asked.
“I don’t think it would be a good idea right now.”
“Why?” There was a long pause and then he quickly turned
around and angrily strode up to me.
“Did you kiss him?” He fumed.
“No! He forced himself on me! Why would you even think such
a thing Carson?!”
“His hands were all over you all night long! Even Julia and
Trent noticed. I kept waiting for you to do something to discourage him but you
didn’t. At first I figured he was just a jerk but since you didn’t do anything
to stop him, I started to think maybe there was something going on. And then I saw the two of you almost kiss in
his office. What else am I supposed to think?”
“You’re supposed to trust me!” I yelled at him. “I couldn’t
stand there in front of all those people and say ‘Excuse me Jason, would you
mind taking your hand off my back? Can you stop touching my arm?’ Believe me,
it creeped me out!”
“You’re telling me that before tonight you had no idea he
was attracted to you?”
I thought back over the last month and a half and thought
about the times that I felt uneasy around Jason. “I take it by your silence
that you did.”
I looked at him. “I. . .There were times that I felt
uncomfortable around him but I wasn’t sure why. He was never as blatant as he
was tonight.”
He stood there looking at me with his jaw clenched. “Maybe
you’re right. Maybe this isn’t a good time to talk about this.” I said and walked
past him towards the stairs.
“Bridge, wait.” I didn’t care what he said at his point. I didn’t
want to look at him. I wanted to go to my room and forget this night ever
happened.
Right as I reached the stairs he grabbed my arm and turned
me around.
“I’m sorry.” He said as he held me. “You’re right. I should trust
you, and I do. I just got so jealous and mad for a moment that I stopped
thinking rationally.”
I looked up at him. “But why? Don’t you know I love you.”
“Yes. I’m so, so sorry Bridge. I love you.” He looked down
at me and had tears in his eyes.
I reached up and stroked his cheek.
He pulled me closer and we started kissing.
He started kissing my neck and I whispered in his ear. “I
love you, Carson.” He swiftly picked me up and we kept kissing as he carried me
to his room.
He closed the door with his
foot and then set my feet on the ground. He started kissing my neck again and I
closed my eyes and moaned.
“Bridge. . .” I opened my eyes and he looked at me. I
unbuttoned his shirt and smiled at him. Once his shirt was off I rubbed my
hands on his chest. I kissed his neck and made my way to his ear. He tensed up
and pulled me away. “Bridge, we should. . .” I kissed him before he could
finish. There had been several times in the past that we had come close to
sleeping together and he had stopped us. This time, I wasn’t taking no for an
answer.
He seemed to finally give in. He undid my dress and it fell
to the floor.
He pulled me closer to him and deepened his kiss. I undid his
pants and they fell to the floor. His hands made their way to my back. He
unfastened my bra and took it off. Next
he took off my panties and slipped out of his underwear. We stood there for a
moment looking at each other. “Bridge, you are absolutely beautiful.” I
blushed. He looked serious for a moment. “We can stop if you want to.”
“Carson, shut up.” I reached up and pulled him down to kiss
me.
He gently picked me up and laid me on the bed. He laid next to me and we
caressed each other and kissed. With each kiss and each touch I desired him
more and more. I wanted him so desperately to end my agony, but instead he kept
taking my desire to another level. I started to think he was never going to let
it end.
“Carson, please. . .” I begged him. That was all he needed to hear. “I
love you Bridge.” He whispered to me as we both reached our peak together.
****Carson****
I woke up the next morning and we were both still lying in
the same position we fell asleep in. I propped myself up and watched her sleep.
I had always thought that Bridge was beautiful, but seeing her now without her
clothes on, I couldn’t imagine any creator more beautiful. She stirred a little
and then cuddled into me more. She had a smile on her face and I couldn’t help
but stroke her cheek. She slowly opened her eyes.
“Morning”
She rolled over and smiled at me. “Morning. What time is
it?”
I looked over at the clock “It’s six.”
She got real serious. “You missed your morning run.”
I chuckled. “It’s okay, Bridge. I’d rather be right here
lying next to you. Plus, I got some exercise last night.”
She hit me in the chest and then snuggled into me. I could
have stayed there like that forever. Everything was so calm and quiet. I closed
my eyes and could hear our hearts beating. It was so soothing, I fell back
asleep.
When I opened my eyes she was looking at me. “I fell back
asleep?”
She giggled. “Yep; your being very lazy this morning.” She
teased.
I pulled her on top of me. “For some reason I didn’t get
much sleep last night.” I responded and kissed her.
We stopped kissing. “Are we going to stay in bed all day
long?” She asked.
I shrugged. “Sounds good to me.”
“How about I at least get us some coffee.” She offered.
“I can get it.” I protested but she had already gotten out
of bed.
I watched her as she walked to the other side of the room
and put her underwear back on and then got one of my shirts and put it on. She
looked back over at me and caught me watching her. “That shirt has never looked so good.” I said
to her. She smiled.
“I’ll be right back.”
****Bridge****
I walked out of his room and was shocked when I saw Julia
and Trent in the living area. They turned when they heard me walk out of
Carson’s room and sat there gawking at me.
“Hi.” I said shortly. “Just gonna grab some coffee.” I
scurried to the kitchen and got two mugs of coffee. I heard someone stand up
and walk into the kitchen.
“Bridge!” Julia whispered. I turned to look at her. “Did you
and Carson. . .”
I blushed and tried not to make eye contact with her.
“Bridge, what I’m asking you I ask as one of your closest friends; did you use
protection.”
I was stunned for a moment but I knew she was looking out
for me. “No. I’ve been on the pill since I was in high school. Not for that but
for other reasons.”
She let out a sigh of relief. “Okay. Just wanted to make
sure.” She ran back to the living area and as quickly as I could, I headed back
to Carson’s room.
I closed the door and handed Carson his coffee. I started
laughing. “What’s so funny?”
“I walked out the door and Julia and Trent were sitting in
the living area.” Carson almost spit out his coffee. “If that wasn’t
embarrassing enough, Julia came up and asked me if we used protection.”
Carson stopped smiling and looked scared. “Oh God Bridge!”
“Calm down.” I reassured him. “I’m on the pill.”
He started breathing again. “I can’t imagine what your dad
would do to me if he found out I got you pregnant.”
“He’d probably kill you.” I joked. “I don’t know what my dad
would do. I mean Kate and Charlie were engaged so it wasn’t such a big deal. I
don’t know what either of my parents would do if one of us got pregnant or got
someone pregnant before being engaged.” I shrugged. “Anyway, you don’t have to
worry about that.”
We got back on the bed and I looked at him. “So are you just
going to lay there and drink coffee all day long.?”
